If you are looking for a very quiet and offbeat beach in Goa, then let me tell you that Cola Beach is one of the natural assets of Goa, and this beach is comparatively one of the most beautiful beaches in Goa. I visited Goa for the first time on February 30, 2024. And my tour plan was that I would spend around 20 days in Goa, 10 days in North Goa, and 10 days in South Goa. After my 10-day North Goa trip, when I moved towards South Goa, I reached this Cola beach in Goa first. This one of the cola beaches is located about 29 km from Madgaon railway station.

cola beach goa

This is one of the most isolated beaches in South Goa, and I think every lava lover will love this beach. And for them, this beach can be like a dream. I went to this kola beach with a scooter, and a little distance from this beach is the kola beach resort. This resort is a very popular place to stay. A lot of tourists also come to Kola Beach to enjoy this resort. Staying at this resort was a bit expensive for me, so I didn’t stay here, but if your budget is good, then you can stay here.

Cola Beach Goa Direction(How to Reach) :

Cola Beach is a very calm beach in South Goa. If you are in North Goa and go to Cola Beach from there, then you have different options, or if you go to Cola from railway stations, then you can reach here in a total of 3 ways. first private vehicle, second-party public transport, and scooter or bicycle rental.

By Private Vehicle: You can easily book a car or taxi from anywhere in Goa to reach Cola Beach. If you want to come here from North Goa, it will take you roughly two to three hours. And if you are coming here from Madgaon railway station in Goa, then it will take approximately one to one and a half hours. The taxi fare will be roughly between 500 and 700 rupees; you will never know when you will reach here to enjoy the beautiful scenery.

By Public Bus: You can easily get a local bus from Goa capital Panji, Mufasa, or Madgaon railway station, and from there you have to come to Benaulim, and then from Benaulim you can take a taxi to reach Cola Beach. From there, the distance to Cola Beach is only 6 km.

By bicycle or scooter: The easiest and cheapest way to reach Cola Beach is by renting a scooter or bicycle, if you can get here. I hired a scooter from Madgaon Railway Station and went to North Goa first, and from there, I directly reached Cola Beach on that scooter. And this scooter was rented by me for around 400 rupees per day. It will take you around 2–3 hours to reach here from Panji. While coming here, you will pass through some of the most beautiful villages in Goa, which will blow your mind.

Activities at Cola Beach :

cola beach activities

If you are an activity lover, then Cola Beach is one of the places for you. There are various travel activities like swimming and boating, as well as some beach activities like yoga, beach volleyball, sunbathing, etc.

Kayaking and boating: I first tried kayaking at this Cola Beach, and after checking on Google, I booked a boarding and kayaking package from one of the best boating service agencies that cost me around a thousand rupees. And from there, they made me backwater and bat, and my personal experience was very good after trying kayaking here. And there were a lot of tourists who were kayaking who also came from different countries. They first took us on a boat to the middle of the river and did various adventure activities. We were given a kayak, and we had a lot of fun. It was one of the best experiences of my life.

I booked this activity from a kayaking service agency called Adi Kayaking Service. If you want, you can book from here because I think it is the best service in the area. Their address is Beach Road, Kola, and their phone number is 09765876014.

Beach activities (sunbathing, yoga, beach volleyball): On the beach here, you can do various kinds of beautiful activities, such as my hotel, which is located just 1 km away from this beach. I used to come here every morning and practice yoga sitting in front of the sweet sun rays, and sometimes I would watch the volleyball being played around, and sometimes I would join and enjoy the volleyball game with them. There are very few tourists visiting the beach here, so you can enjoy a different peace here. You can come here and sit for a while and enjoy the sea. Also, like me, you can bring football or volleyball here to play with your family. It is important for you.

Nature walks and exploring the lagoon: As I told you earlier, very few tourists come here to visit, so you can come here and blend yourself with the nature here. And when you explore the place on foot, lost in the natural beauty here, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped into a world of nature. I have been a nature lover since my childhood, so this place felt like heaven to me. And when I was walking around on the scooty or on my feet on the nature-filled roads of this hilly beauty, I really enjoyed it, so I shared my experience with you.

Here I will suggest roughly three types of hotels, which will be high, medium, and low range, and you can choose the hotels according to your budget.

Blue Lagoon Cola Resort: This hotel is located at Cola Beach Rd., Canacona, Kola, just one kilometre from Cola Beach. When I first came to visit this beach and I first searched Google for Best Hotels Around Me, I found this hotel first. But as this hotel was a bit more than my budget, I stayed here only for one day, and my experience was great. I would suggest you stay in this hotel if your budget is quite good. I liked it here because the beach is clearly visible from this resort. When I went to travel, the price of my stay at this resort was around 4000 rupees per day, and according to the season, the price of this resort may be lower or higher. I am giving the phone number of the resort here. If you want, you can book directly by calling this number: 09158491489.

Duck N Chill, Agonda: This beautiful hotel is located on Agonda Beach Road, just off the Cola Beach. I stayed in this hotel for about two days, and my stay for two days was around 1800 rupees. Agonda Paradise Beach Huts: If you want to stay inspired by the rural environment of Goa and stay in the huts like village houses, then this hotel is for you. And it will be a great experience for you. I will mention the names of the restaurants on Cola Beach.

Sunshine Restaurant: I have a habit that before I go to any hotel, restaurant, or any place to travel or eat, I visit the place by checking Google reviews and ratings. Like goan fish thali, non-veg thali, prawns, and also different sea food, I eat and I liked the food here. If you think you can also go here for dinner or lunch, The address of this restaurant is MDR 49, Agonda, Goa 403702.

Shacks are a type of restaurant that is located on the beach, and people love to eat while enjoying the sea view. The price of the food here is a little more expensive than the food in the outside restaurants, but I will tell you that you will definitely enjoy eating in all these shacks.

Best Time to Visit Cola Beach Goa:

A Locano gem awaits you: the Cola beach at the southern tip of Goa. It is a hideaway paradise whose picturesque surroundings will leave you mesmerized. Unlike the other crowded beaches, Cola Beach is very sparsely populated and naturally quiet. But let’s find out when is the right time to visit this Cola beach.

1. November to February: The Ideal Window

The best time to visit Cola Beach is during the winter. From November to February, the temperature ranges from 20 degrees Celsius to 30 degrees Celsius, providing the most pleasant weather with relatively low humidity. This is a perfect time for sunbathing and swimming. And the clear sky will give you a great feeling, and Goa is beautifully decorated in winter.

2. March to May: For the Adventurous Spirits

March to May can be a good time for you to visit Cola Beach if you can handle a little heat. Temperatures in Goa can reach around 35 degrees Celsius during these months, but the beaches are less crowded, giving you a more secluded experience.

3. June to October: Monsoon Magic

A visit to Cola Beach during the monsoon season, June to October, will give you a completely different experience. Although it is not a very popular time for tourists due to heavy rainfall and rough seas, it is a great time for nature lovers. When I visited Goa earlier, I came during this monsoon. This time, nature gives you a serene and mysterious atmosphere.

4. Special Events and Festivals

When you come to visit Goa, definitely consider whether you want to come here during the festive season. Because Goa is beautifully decorated during the festive season, if you come to visit here in the month of December, you can experience all the Christmas and New Year feelings. A large number of tourists visit Goa during Christmas and the New Year. And the whole of Goa is crowded with crowds; besides, the Goa Carnival in the month of February is another event that is celebrated across the state. It is a lively attraction, although Kola Beach remains relatively quiet during this time as well.
